By This Time Tomorrow

WRITER'S COMMENTS: A melancholy number about time and wasting it..

Standing here all self-important
someone come and put me in my place
And I could be forgiven
If I get my feet back in this place
Tried to tell you something
Break it down and spill it out all day
But time comes killing, crushing
by tomorrow night might be too late

By this time tomorrow
By this time tomorrow
By this time tomorrow night

Lying there all self-awareness
Certain sweetness in your saddest face
And I could be Anteus
if I get my feet back in this place
Other cirumstances
trying to live on both sides of the street
Did the naked dances
they burst in and ripped off all the sheets

And they were all jaded from years of being over sated
And lost the work ethic till living became nothing special
And I tried to save them
But I could not sway them

By this time tomorrow night

Lying here in all this redness
god I think they kicked my ass again
And I could sleep forever
if I thought I might not miss my friends
