Legs Kicked Out
BY: Fritz Beer (Copyright 2001)

Back to the list of releases.

WRITER'S COMMENTS: Done in the spirit of the Clash's "I'm Not Down." This is some of the positive, catharsis type stuff I like to write to battle my own depression. Everybody gets shoed in the nuts now and then, and you have to find some motivation to get back up and to get shoed in the nuts again (Apparently I'm obsessed with the boot in the groin analogy today, sorry)..

Down here they ask where you at
They don’t answer when you call back
Four in the morning and they walk right in
Thought I’d never see you again

Legs kicked out but I won’t fall down
Now I know what was lost is found
Legs kicked out but I won’t fall down
Now I know what was lost is found
Now I know what was lost is found

I’ve been acting like I’m number one
Acting nothing like my mother's son
Rolling numbers when it all went South
It was you that shouted me out

With curtain rods for legs you won’t very far
They crumple when you stand and you fall back hard
The elements of style they try to keep you down
They stuff it in your mouth but you talk back loud

Talk back loud

Down here they ask where you at
They don’t answer when you call back
Four in the morning and they waltz right in
Thought I’d never see you again
