Punchy makes relatively quiet rock music. They have catchy melodies and choruses, and the music therefore sticks in your mind easily. Fans of the genre will really enjoy this Texas rock; however, after repeated listenings the album gets on your nerves, because some songs seem to build up only towards the chorus. Some songs just repeat one line too often (e.g. “try something new for you – try acting like a human” track 10). The 40-minute album goes by really quickly. You listen to the album and at some point you realize “Wow, is that already over?”  It is hard to concentrate on the music, and for that reason it is probably better suited as background music. I think Punchy has not set any new trend or created something spectacular.  They took up a style and worked it according to their own ideas. Result: Good music, but not for everybody and not suitable for long-time-listening. A further disadvantage is that the lyrics can only be found on the internet.
